My salesman Shawn, could not have been more helpful at the time of sales. He assured me that my living so close to the store would be first delivery of the day and be at my home “between 10 and noon, with call 1/2 hour before delivery “. On this beautiful summer day with plans in the afternoon and evening I received a call from Joe the delivery driver, he let me know that they would be between 3 and 5pm. Here’s the bottom line, Dewitt refused any action to correct this issue, and Kelly went on offense, I , according to him was being unreasonable. My Salesman was off today. So I cancelled the order. My advice, save your time, money and spare yourself the aggression of half wits. I of course cancelled the order and will take my business elsewhere.

DeWhitt's does not back the product they sell. While I found this business and it's representatives pleasant to deal with and fairly dependable what has and continuing to be frustrating and confusing is their lack of support and backing of the customer. We have an appliance that is nothing less than a "LEMON"! We have gotten no support from the manufacturer or this business. We have asked for a refund and it's been refused. We have asked for a replacement appliance and we have been refused. We have been customer's of DeWhitt's for over two decades but this lack of customer satisfaction will end this relationship unless they come through with some definitive action. There are a lot of appliance stores in the area, if you can afford to lose customers do nothing.

I recently purchased a dishwasher from DeWhitt’s appliances in Portland location for $547. The same model was available at Home Depot for $519 brand new, but I chose DeWit to support a local business and to get the unit installed quickly. My son picked up the dishwasher, and an employee assisted him with loading it into his SUV. The unit was placed on its back with the door facing up. When he arrived at my home and opened the SUV — before the dishwasher was removed from the vehicle — we immediately noticed a dent/crease in the center/top portion of the door. This was visible as soon as the vehicle hatch was opened. We went ahead with installation hoping it would be less noticeable once installed, but unfortunately the damage is very visible in person. I contacted the store right away, explained the issue, and offered to have them inspect it since the reflective finish makes the dent difficult to photograph clearly. I requested either a replacement door panel or a reasonable partial refund. The response I received focused on the fact that it was an outlet purchase and that my name was not on the order (my son handled pickup). I was told there was nothing further they could do and that I should “just go ahead and use it and enjoy the savings.” What’s disappointing is that there really weren’t any savings. I paid more than the current sale price at Home Depot for the same model, and a major retailer would have accepted a return or exchange for a visibly damaged unit. I did not expect paying full price — or more than retail — to mean accepting visible cosmetic damage. I’m sharing this so others know to carefully inspect items before leaving the store and to confirm who is listed on the order at the time of purchase.

Have not thought about appliances for 20 years. Now we're doing a kitchen update and have to choose several appliances at once. So many options, so many things to think about. Nick Clark answered all our questions, looked up the information if he was not completely positive. He led us thru pros and cons of several models and packages, listened to our needs, offered better alternates. We are very confident that we will be purchasing quality equipment to serve us for years to come.

I’ve made two purchases through Dewhitt so far, and both have worked out great. I bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer set through Kelly, which I absolutely love, and later purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher based on Glenn’s recommendation. Although I did experience an issue with the brand-new dishwasher not drying dishes properly, Dewhitt went above and beyond to make things right. They coordinated with KitchenAid and replaced the entire unit under warranty, handling the installation at no cost to me. While I wasn’t impressed with their service partner, Appliance Hospital, I really appreciate Dewhitt’s commitment to standing behind their products and ensuring I ended up with a working appliance in the end. I’ll definitely continue shopping with them in the future.
