After having Woodlee come to our house when our refrigerator was making noises, we learned that it was not repairable. We went to their store to look at purchasing a new one. We got a price for a Whirlpool that seemed to be fair and reasonable. I however, wanted to check the price at Lowe's just to make sure of the price. Lowe's was cheaper by about $100. My husband wanted to pay the extra amount to support a small and local business. He called Woodlee's the next day and told them that we wanted to go ahead and purchase the fridge that we had been discussing with them. They told him that he had to come into the store to pay for it, they were not able to do it over the phone. This was on Aug. 21. At that time, they told us that we would be able to have it delivered on Thursday or Friday of the next week or at least by Monday. I called on Friday to check on it because we still had not heard anything. I was told that our sales rep was already gone for the day and they would leave a message for him to call my husband on Monday. So today, Monday, at 10:30am, by husband still had not heard from them. When he called, they told him that our fridge would not be able to be delivered until OCTOBER!!
This is not acceptable! We have been dealing without a fridge for over a week. Todd told my husband that he did not know that this was going to happen until this morning at 7:30. Why did he not call us then? He did not even call us at all. It took my husband calling to even find out this info. But really, why did they tell us 5-7 days till delivery if that was not verified first?
We tried to give the small local business our support thinking that we would have better customer service and they would be easier to deal with. This is not the case. It is my understanding that Woodlee is under new ownership. This is not how they used to do business. We will not be supporting their business anymore and would recommend others to think about it before they do.
