Kimberly Wassam
I wanted to support a local used appliance business because of the many positive reviews, and I understood from the beginning that all sales were final with no refunds. However, my experience was very disappointing.
Less than 24 hours after purchasing a washer and dryer, I ran only two items through the washer and it shook so violently that I immediately knew something wasn't right. When I contacted the owner, I was told it was because the washer "wasn't filled enough," even though I had used the settings he specifically recommended. That explanation didn't make sense given how severe the shaking was.
I wasn't even asking for a full refund. I was willing to take a financial loss if it meant giving the owner the opportunity to resell the appliances. I simply hoped there would be some understanding, especially since it hadn't even been a full 24 hours since the purchase.
As for the dryer, I can't even comment on whether it works because we discovered we had the wrong power cord for our outlet. The owner said he would replace it, but after this experience, I'm no longer interested.
I understand that buying used comes with risks, and I accept responsibility for taking that chance. Still, I expected better customer service and a willingness to work with me when an obvious issue arose almost immediately after the sale.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend buying used appliances here based on my experience. I won't be making this mistake again, and I certainly won't encourage my 21-year-old son to do so either.
