Austell Natural Gas Systems (ANGS) has created one of the most disappointing utility customer experiences I've ever encountered.
Earlier this year, the dramatic increase in gas prices sparked outrage throughout our neighborhood and surrounding communities, leaving many feeling blindsided and without meaningful answers.
The company's systems and policies are antiquated. Their payment processes are unnecessarily restrictive, and there is little flexibility for customers who prefer to manage their accounts online. In an age where most companies offer modern, customer-friendly payment options, ANGS is content operating with outdated practices that create unnecessary inconvenience.
Customer service reps often come across as disengaged and indifferent, with little sense of urgency or willingness to address customer concerns.
The biggest issue, however, is the lack of consumer choice. Austell Gas is the only natural gas provider available in my neighborhood, leaving us with no realistic alternative. With no meaningful competition, there is little incentive to improve pricing, customer service, or outdated policies.
Rather than earning customer loyalty through value and quality service, they rely on customers simply have nowhere else to go.
