3 year old LG dishwasher LDFN4542S out of warranty. Water was leaking from underneath after returning from a long vacation when the breaker was turned on. The water in home had been off and the taps drained before we left for a short break from cold weather. The home was kept warm as well. I call what I thought was a local repair company Southing Appliance Repair. As it turned out many small independent services had been bought up under the banner of Action Appliance. So I get the call center and request a tech. I’m told that I must pay $200+ upfront before scheduling and dispatching a tech. Okay….? This is in case the tech shows up at an empty home, that’s is a first for me. The fee is applied to the cost of the repair so I get that. The next day the tech arrived on time and I was able to track his progress prior to arrival. Under the factory warranty not long after purchase I had the main board replaced. Well to shorten this the tech Deavan H quickly diagnosed the problem and pulled valve with a cracked housing. A crappy little part, no more LG appliances for me, it’s my only LG🙏 .A couple days later the new part arrived and service was arranged after I called them. Deavan was a pleasure to deal with, polite and knowledgeable. The repair was north of $400, that would go a long way toward a new dishwasher but this being only 3 years and of extremely quiet operation and the repair has a fair and long warranty. I know they must have more overhead operating costs. I can’t complain because the quality and speed of service and someone always answered the phone, organized. I’ve dealt with many appliance repair outs, all of them small. I can recommend Action Appliance, they were very upfront on cost and policy, good communication and was able to track the tech’s progress on service calls until he arrived to us.
