#1 know that the prices are the same as the bigger box stores, but one receives personal service. Our family has been buying from Reid's for decades - the salesman went to Dos Pueblos, the owners are from this area, the delivery men are efficient, cheerful, careful and experienced. Help keep Santa Barbara stores in business; locals complain about lack of stores here, let's patronize them, instead of buying from big, impersonal ones.

I hope you I recently reconnected with Tim and his son, the owners of Reid’s Appliances, and it brought back great memories. I worked with Tim over 20 years ago when I was a contractor, purchasing appliances for both myself and my customers. One thing that stood out to me then and still stands out today is that Tim is the same person he was all those years ago: a man of character, integrity, and someone who truly cares about people. He is also a great family man, and you can see those same values reflected throughout his business. If you’re considering giving Tim and his family the opportunity to earn your business, I highly recommend it. I honestly can’t say whether you’ll always find a better price there than at a big-box store, but what you will find is something much harder to put a price on: personal service, accountability, and a family business that genuinely cares about its customers. I only wish Google reviews existed when I first started working with them, because the fact that I can reconnect with them 20+ years later and see they are still providing the same level of service says everything about this business, this family, and this team. them the opportunity!

I’ve been a customer of Reid’s Appliances for over a decade and have purchased at least 12 products from them, including a $20,000 refrigerator just last year. That history apparently means nothing. I spent $3,000 on an ice maker that worked exactly once. It made a single batch of ice and then failed immediately on its first drain cycle. Completely unusable. When I contacted Omar, the sales manager, to request a refund or replacement, his response was essentially that because it “made ice once,” it technically worked, so there was nothing he could do. it felt like an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for a defective product. The only option offered was a vague promise of a service call at some undefined point in the future. No date. No timeframe. No urgency. No accountability. After years of loyalty and tens of thousands of dollars spent, this is how they handle a clear failure: stall, deflect, and leave the customer holding the bag. I won’t be doing business with Reid’s again.
