Habitat For Humanity ReStore Oakland

We were originally quoted around $300 to pick up our sofa and dining table for donation. I already thought it was odd that we had to pay to donate, but since it was for a good cause and we didn't want to send perfectly good furniture to the landfill, we agreed. When the driver arrived, the price suddenly doubled to $600 because the sofa is a sectional. That was never disclosed upfront and is completely unreasonable. This felt like a bait-and-switch. At that price, I'd rather junk the furniture than pay to donate it. I won't be using this service again, and I can't recommend it to others.

I would like to compliment Habitat Oakland location for having great service, especially Edward. It can get busy in there and he was courteous and patient to assist us with our table and did everything to ensure the table we purchased was in best shape as possible before we left. I've gotten a dishwasher, a set of vintage dishes, and a hall tree from here. The other customers are nice, the staff is helpful (shoutout to Regina and Roderick!), and the pricing and deals make these things accessible to many. Highly recommend this store, I always have to watch my budget when I stop by for "just a look"
