We have been AHS customers for years and are deeply disappointed with how our refrigerator claim has been handled. Our 16-year-old refrigerator has failed for the third time in three years. The Antech technician sent by AHS spent less than 5 minutes checking temperatures only - no mechanical inspection whatsoever - and declared it repairable for $400. After 2+ hours on the phone with AHS, they refuse to consider that repeatedly repairing a 16-year-old appliance is economically wasteful - language explicitly used in their own contract (Section 9H). We are left without a working refrigerator for over 2 weeks, having already paid $125 for an inadequate diagnosis, and being offered $425 for a unit that needs replacement. We are now filing complaints with the California Department of Insurance and the BBB. We pay $911/year for this plan and expect better. Update to follow once resolved.

I have been paying for a home warranty with American Home Shield for 26 years. Fortunately, I do not have appliance or home system issues very often, but when I do, my experiences with this company have been consistently disappointing. My washing machine has been malfunctioning since May 16, and as of June 17, the issue remains unresolved. During this time, three different technician visits have taken place, yet no solution has been provided. I have been without a working washing machine for more than a month. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. On a previous claim, I was without a refrigerator for three weeks while waiting for a resolution. On another occasion, my drains became clogged, leaving my home without functioning toilets for over a week. Due to American Home Shield's vendor restrictions and scheduling protocols, the only assigned contractor did not handle emergency calls on Saturdays. The situation became so unacceptable that I had to hire and pay an independent plumber out of pocket to restore service. What is most frustrating is the lack of urgency, accountability, and communication. Each time I contact customer service regarding my current claim, I am told that they are still "making a decision." After more than two decades of loyalty and premium payments, I expected a higher level of service when I actually needed assistance. In my experience, American Home Shield has failed to provide timely resolutions during some of the most inconvenient household emergencies. If you work hard for your money, as I do, I encourage you to carefully consider whether this coverage is worth the cost. I have spent many years paying premiums, only to face repeated delays, frustration, and disappointment when I needed help the most. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend American Home Shield.

I had American Homesheild for 1 year. It was included as part of the purchase of our home so we tried to make use of it. Overall the actual service was a.a.mixed bag ( will go into detai later), but when we crunched the numbers and decided to cancel they made it difficult. The 1st time they confirmed it was canceled we go charged t the next month. The next time we called they confirmed the previous call was recorded and rhat we did indeed cancel. Honest mistake? Maybe, but then they proceeded to be extremely pushy and insisted we didn't need to cancel like 6 times ( whixh makes me suspect the 'mistake' is intentional. It took me being flat out calling them out on their pushiness and telling the service rep that I would never consider using them again because they made it so difficult. We used it a total of four times; once tho change the locks, once to fix washing machine door seal. Both of those went well, but the two other times were less than stellar ( for a/c & plumbing). Homesheild contracts out to other companies to actually do the repairs so it's a gamble whether you'll get someone who knows what they're doing. They will send out a second person if you call back but you may be stuck with your a/c out for over a week in summer like we were. Or have a plumber tell you not only is the issue you called for not covered, but will cost an additional $600 + to fix directly through them ( which was a lie. When I got my own plumber with much more experience he said the problem had multiple ways to be fixed and it only cost me $250.) They get 2 stars because they did provide some services & fixed most of the issues eventually. but read your conract carefully. There is a $ limit to what they will fix and overall we came to the conclusion that most repairs cost less than the money you would be paying Homesheild.

AllTrustPlumbling (David) did an isoutstanding job replacing my water heater from start to finish. They showed up on time, clearly explained my options and didn't try to upsell anymore unnecessary. The installation was done quickly and professionally and they made sure everything was working perfectly before leaving. They took time to answer all my questions in a way that was easy to understand. The new water heater works flawlessly and I've had zero issues since the installation. AllTrustPlumbling is reliable honest and skilled plumbing company

I wish I could give them negative stars however I did report them to BBB. It is extremely frustrating to talk to anyone here as they do not take any accountability. I called to cancel my account , they told me it was already cancelled and then they kept emailing me telling my account is past due and they will send me to collection agency. When I finally got someone to help me after numerous tries, they are going to charge me $50 admin fee for cancelling. In addition, they don’t make your policy available to you on your online account nor do they email you the policy when you first sign up. I will never ever work with them again and I highly recommend everyone not to either. There is a reason they have just 1 star. Please save your $ and grief and don’t work with this company.
