Blue Ridge Appliances 4 Less

We recently purchased a scratch-and-dent refrigerator from Blue Ridge Appliances. Overall, the buying experience was pleasant, and Leon was helpful during the sale. We were also able to get a great deal. Unfortunately, after getting the refrigerator home, we discovered that one of the lower door shelves had shattered on during transport, although it remained upright and as we he had straped it down before leaving. We called the store immediately upon getting home and noticing wheb we opened the door. The manager was friendly, responsive, took the details, and knew exactly which refrigerator we had purchased. She explained that the warranty had been entered incorrectly and that, contrary to what we were told during the sale, the coverage is through a third-party warranty company rather than the manufacturer directly. That was disappointing because we specifically asked about the warranty before purchasing. We were instructed to wait 7 days for the third-party warranty to become active before filing a claim, which was concerning given that the damage was discovered immediately after purchase. On the positive side, the manager said she would set aside the matching refrigerator currently on the sales floor in case the warranty company does not replace the shelf. I appreciated her willingness to help and look for a solution. At this point, I am cautiously optimistic but waiting to see how the shelf replacement is ultimately handled. If the issue is resolved as promised, I will be very satisfied. I plan to update this review once the warranty process is complete.
