BrandSmart Delivery Experience
Another disappointing experience with the BrandSmart delivery team.
Last week, I had a 36-inch-wide refrigerator delivered. I believe it was the same delivery person who delivered my new clothes dryer several months ago at another property, and unfortunately, I had the same experience with him—rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to listen to the customer.
When I purchased the refrigerator, the salesman specifically told me that the delivery team would connect the water line. However, when the delivery person arrived, he started asking for so many things and making the process unnecessarily difficult. I didn’t want an argument, so I ultimately told him not to connect it.
Later, I discovered another major problem: the refrigerator did not fit the opening because it was more than 1/2 inch taller than the available space. When I purchased it, the salesman and I measured the display model together, and based on those measurements, it appeared that the refrigerator would fit. The actual unit delivered was taller than what we had measured.
There was also a loose piece that I wanted the delivery team to inspect because I wanted to know where it belonged, but my concerns were dismissed.
When I contacted the BrandSmart store manager, instead of helping resolve the problem, I was blamed for accepting the refrigerator in the first place. I explained that I had purchased the unit based on the measurements and that the actual refrigerator delivered did not match those measurements.
To make matters worse, I was charged 20% of the purchase price before they would send a team to pick up the refrigerator. I also purchased a 3-year protection plan, and I still don’t know whether that will be refunded.
Since I needed a refrigerator, I had no choice but to purchase another one from Lowe’s. The difference was night and day. The Lowe’s delivery team was courteous, professional, and made the entire delivery process easy.
BrandSmart really needs to take a serious look at its delivery and customer-service practices. I strongly recommend that management address the behavior of this particular delivery employee and train the team to treat customers with professionalism and respect.
Very disappointed with BrandSmart. Unfortunately, my experience with Lowe’s was much better.
